  • What are the benefits of living in a Smart Home?
    Smart Homes enable you to control lighting, heating, blinds, and various other devices in your household through one unified system. Hence, everyday life becomes easier in various respects: Turning devices on or off and performing tasks automatically, your Smart Homes takes care of many time-consuming chores. By way of example, it will activate the robotic vacuum cleaner in regular intervals or start the garden irrigation system if there hasn’t been any rain for a while. During colder months, it will automatically turn on the heating and turn it off at the right time to save energy. You can set so-called “routines” to determine when certain functions will be active.
  • How are you different from a standard smart home installer?
    Most installers are electricians or AV technicians who have completed a short training course to fit "off-the-shelf" components. We are software engineers and IT professionals first. We don't just plug in devices; we write the custom code that allows everything to work as a single, unified ecosystem. We provide a full functional specification and bespoke app design—services a traditional tradesman cannot offer.
  • Which area of the country do you operate in?
    We're based centrally in Birmingham and operate across the UK. We also manage projects outside of the country as we're able to plan and work with electricians and remote config installations.
  • Do I need a dedicated server room?
    Not anymore. While we can build full rack-mounted systems for large estates, our modern Smart Servers are compact and silent. They can be discreetly installed in a media cabinet or utility cupboard. The "intelligence" is in the code, not the size of the hardware.
  • Can I keep my existing designer light switches?
    Absolutely. Our Retrofit Engineering uses nano-modules that sit behind your chosen faceplates. Whether you have period-style brass toggles or modern Forbes & Lomax buttons, we make them smart without changing the aesthetic of your interior design.
  • What happens if my internet goes down?
    Your home stays smart. Unlike consumer-grade "cloud" systems, our Smart Server processes all logic locally. Your lights, heating, and security schedules will continue to run perfectly. Only remote access (controlling the house from away) and voice assistants like Alexa require an active internet connection.
  • How secure is my data?
    Data privacy is built into our architecture. We segment your home network using VLANs, isolating your smart devices from your private computers. Furthermore, our "Local-First" approach means your habits, camera footage, and sensor data stay on your physical server inside your home, not on a third-party cloud.
  • Do you support Apple HomeKit, Alexa, and Google Home?
    Yes. Our system acts as a Universal Bridge. We port all your connected devices out to your preferred platform. You can even use Siri in one room and Alexa in another—the core logic remains unified on our server.
  • Can I change the "look and feel" of the app later?
    Yes. Because we are UX Designers, the interface isn't fixed. If you redecorate a room or simply want a new aesthetic, our team can remotely update your app's skin, icons, and layout to match.
  • What happens if a device fails?
    We provide Proactive Monitoring. Our engineers receive a heartbeat alert if a critical node goes offline. We often contact you to arrange a fix before you’ve even noticed a fault. Because we keep version control backups of your home’s code, replacing a device is a simple "plug-and-play" software deployment.
  • Can I add more features in the future?
    Our systems are designed to be Modular. You can start with lighting and heating in the main living areas and add garden irrigation or cinema control later. Our software architecture is built to scale without needing to rewrite the foundation.
  • I have a project someone else has started. Can you help?
    Yes, we are well-versed in system takeovers and remedial work. Having successfully inherited numerous projects where the original delivery fell short of expectations, we have the technical expertise to quickly diagnose and rectify infrastructure flaws.
